52 is a packaging design project inspired by the deck of cards with some inspiration from the look and feel of casinos. When you look at a casino you think bargaining, wealth, cards. The name and logo came from the deck of cards which has 52 cards. The boxes each represent some aspect of my idea.
The large box where the smaller boxes go inside is meant to represent a Spade from the deck of cards with a large 52 put onto it with premium matte paper. The smaller boxes are all made from semi-glossy cardstock paper. The Rectangle boxes are abstract drawings of the King of Spades and The Queen of Hearts. For the King Of Spades, the mans face has a spade in place of his eye. And for The Queen of Hearts, the Rose is meant to represent the heart since roses are a sign of love. The smaller, cylindrical box has the design of a casino chip on top of the lid with the logo 52 in the middle. Inside the rectangular boxes there Weill be cologne, inside the King of Spades box, and perfume, inside the Queen of Hearts box. And in the Cylindrical boxes there will be either a small bottle of lotion or some accessory to fit inside.
The gold foil on the rectangle boxes that are meant to represent the man and the woman, King of Spades and Queen of Hearts, was hand drawn onto the boxes. I used gold foil and a heat pen to draw my design onto the foil which would then transfer the design onto the box.
